This project explores the creation of a complete graphic identity for a fictional business, beginning with a handheld object as inspiration. After choosing a rubber duck to bring to my advanced graphic design class, I had the challenge of envisioning a brand identity for my fictional business called DUCK’D. The goal was to develop a consistent and recognizable brand through logo design, business collateral, and digital applications.

Over 60 logo iterations were created, and refined through a process of critical analysis and experimentation. Final deliverables included a custom logo, letterhead, business card, graphic identity manual, branded garment mockup, and an interactive web or print piece. Emphasizing both creativity and clarity, this project highlights the role of design in shaping brand narrative, ensuring visual consistency, and enhancing recognition across multiple platforms.

The goal of the assignment was to create a wedding suite with a deadline of one week. Each fictional couple had a specific theme, location, color palate, and request that required graphic designers to think outside the box.

The couple had specific wording they wanted on their invites, of which they required two versions: one in English and another in French. They wanted their wedding to feel bold, chic, contemporary, and summery. Their wedding colors were bright blue, olive, dark blue, light gray, and a light (but not lime) green.

For this project, my group and I designed branding and collateral for a fictitious design conference called "Array," aimed at early-to-established career design professionals and educators. The challenge was to create a cohesive visual identity that captured the theme of celebrating diversity and commonalities in personal design values.

This project allowed me to apply my layout, typography, and visual storytelling skills to create a polished and professional package that would appeal to a wide range of design professionals. Our group focused on a brand identity that was polished and futuristic while referencing post-modern graphical elements.

Once Upon a Plate Cookbook

In this project, I designed a professional cookbook that blends practical culinary guidance with creative visual design. The inspiration behind this work was based on Fairy Tales. Each recipe was inspired by a popular fairy tale with visual elements that aided the story. The design reflects storybooks with a contemporary color palette.

Using Adobe InDesign, I focused on creating a clean, visually cohesive layout that allowed each recipe to shine, integrating high-quality images sourced from public domain platforms or created in Photoshop and Illustrator. Attention to typography, image placement, and consistency ensured the book was not only functional but aesthetically pleasing.

The Backseat Lovers Swiss Concert Posters

The Swiss Gig Poster Project employs the aesthetic and ideals of the International Typographic Style (Swiss Style) from the 1940s-60s to a contemporary artist/band. Under this graphical style, I used a modular grid structure with a dichotomy of symmetry and asymmetry to create a compelling concert poster. The use of typographic elements to encourage the poster to be interactive, bold typeface, and scale inviting the viewer to analyze the Posters from multiple perspectives. The Backseat Lovers Swiss Concert Posters focused on capturing the clean, modernist design approach emphasizing clarity, structure, and visual dynamism.
